We did not set out to make an exhibition about David Wojnarowicz. Yet the more we looked—encountering his journals, essays, catalogues, and biography—the more his voice seemed to guide the inquiry. As an artist, writer, and activist, Wojnarowicz occupies a singular position at the intersection of many of the questions that first inspired Erasure Gallery

By breaking apart the image, I was able to represent the personal rational of how people relate in an urban environment among the buildings and sedentary objects on the street, and to explore the dynamics of securing one’s own place in the hierarchy of waiting.
